Corporate Jargon is the Enemy of Meaning

My career as an Executive Writer and Corporate Storyteller started auspiciously when I was taking notes on a whiteboard in a meeting and thought it was spelled “Sea-Suite Executives.” Luckily, there was nowhere to go but up from there.

Today, I have a dozen years of experience helping Executives at global technology companies like Microsoft, Cisco, and ADP grow their thought leadership footprints and harness the power of storytelling to hit strategic goals.. Currently, I’m the Chief Product Storyteller and Executive Speechwriter for the CMO of SAP Global, where I spend my days translating complex technical concepts into simple, compelling prose. During my tenure, the average Keynote Approval Rating has risen from 83% to 90%. Here is one of the speeches (and yes, I also consulted on the fabulous dress.) I love what I do because it combines two of my passions: working with Executives (I presented How to Get Anything You Want From an Executive at Inbound) and writing. If you would like to talk all things storytelling, or to request additional speech samples, the best thing to do is to send me a Connect Request on Linkedin. Thanks for stopping by!

Never Trust a Feminist is my debut fiction novel. The book is the story of protagonist Meredith Eve, a budding film director, and what happens when she gets crossed by her boss, Arabella Fitzwilliams, the so-called “Sheryl Sandberg of Cinema.” An updated Devil Wears Prada for the social media age, this book is a fun, sharp look at female power dynamics, set against a glossy L.A. backdrop.

Things people said about me….

“I had the pleasure of working with Jade on the internal marketing team at New Engen. Jade came into a fairly undefined role and was tasked with helping to build out a content strategy function. She helped us think through not just what we needed to create, but pushed us to think more creatively about the story we were telling – with a strong focus on customers. She served as a mentor for other members of our team, both those that reported to her and those that didn’t. She has a way of connecting with those around her that is genuine and compassionate. She consistently brought so much light and life to our office and team – she’s truly a joy to work with.”

—Shannon Hill, New Engen Marketing Director

“Jade oversaw the creative department when I started as a copywriter. She is what every team needs in a leader: hardworking, encouraging, and able to clearly communicate expectations and goals. Under her direction, projects consistently met time and budget requirements and greatly pleased clients. She's one of the most creative thinkers I've come across in my career.”

-Amanda Halm, Portent Copywriter

“There is nothing more pathetic than caution when headlong might save a life.”
